DRUM LIKE ME
Tutorial
>STEP-02
Ribbon cable access
Cut a slot at the base of each drum to allow access to the ribbon cable.
Drill two 1.5mm holes about 5mm apart (right-hand drum), then use a
scalpel or sharp knife to cut between the two holes (centre drum), and
clear aa an eri inall, tri aa e iece of forireie
rion cale, aot cm long, an h it throgh the lot o hae
made (left drum). This is a lot easier than trying to push it through from
the inside of the tube.
>STEP-03
Fit the circuit board
Strip and solder the four wires of the ribbon cable
to the oar hen coer the track ie of the oar
with dual-sided sticky foam, pull the ribbon cable
ot, an manoere the circit oar to the centre
of the drum and press down. Then place some hotmelt
gle oer here the rion cale eit the
drum. We could not get the glue gun into the tube,
so we resorted to putting the glue on a wooden
stick and transferring it to the ribbon cable – we
used the wrong end of a small paintbrush for this.
