The 2015-16 session of PCPC commences on Thursday 3rd September.
The Club meets on Thursday evenings, 7.30pm until 10pm from September
through to the end of April. Meetings take place at the William McMaster
Community Centre, Donaldson Drive, Renfrew, PA4 8LX.
Over the coming months we will be providing more details of what’s on
during the 2015/16 season. If you have an interest in photography, at any
level, please do come along to our informal meetings. We are a friendly
group of enthusiasts with a broad spectrum of experience whose interest is
in sharing and improving their photographic skills.
The images this month are a selection from previous competitions. The
first image is by Gary Ramanathan of Wemyss Bay Station, prior to the
refurbishment that is currently underway. The second image is by John
Davies of the timber ponds near Langbank and the third image is by
Campbell Watson of a scene at Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.
The print competition topic for September 14th meeting is “Seaside
Architecture”.
Membership of the club is only £10 for the first year. If you wish to find out
As ever, a quality, interesting, informative and varied syllabus has been
compiled with a balance of presentations and competitions encompassing
all popular aspects of photography. Our wide-ranging lecture programme
this year includes photojournalism, press photography and underwater
photography as well as landscapes and travelogues from Bhutan to Chile.
As befits such a comprehensive programme, our lecturers this year also
come from far and near. We will be exploring creative photography with
London-based photographer Andi Edan and learning about farming with
wildlife with Andrew Parsons from Newark. Nearer to home, we will be taking
a close look at the Nevis area with renowned hill walker and photographer
Alex Gillespie from Fort William and even travelling back in time to the
1960s with Tom Doherty for a look at Glasgow’s people and places as seen
through the lens of the late Eric Watt.
There are also two Teach-ins per month September to April. During the
summer months outings are arranged for every Thursday evening and also
to special events (some images included). Perhaps most of all there is the
friendly camaraderie of like minded enthusiasts.
New members and visitors are assured of a warm welcome. For information
and details of the coming session please refer to www.paisleycolour.co.uk
