The Conservancy Association Centre for<br />
Heritage is a non-governmental and nonprofit<br />
organisation promoting conservation<br />
of Hong Kong culture, heritage and his<strong>to</strong>ry.<br />
It promotes public awareness on cultural<br />
and heritage conservation through various<br />
activities for schools, educational institutes<br />
and the public of Hong Kong.<br />
TGIF was asked <strong>to</strong> design an exhibition identity<br />
and promotion items for the exhibition of<br />
traditional Chinese architecture. Among<br />
his<strong>to</strong>rical buildings in Hong Kong, these are<br />
special not only because of their his<strong>to</strong>rical<br />
value, but also due <strong>to</strong> their artistic architectural<br />
style. Using details from traditional Chinese<br />
architecture, the designers <strong>create</strong>d a visual<br />
graphic Chinese typeface. The name of each<br />
of the seven buildings shown in this exhibition<br />
was written in this visual typeface, forming a<br />
logo for each building. These seven variable<br />
yet recognisable identities were used <strong>to</strong><br />
communicate the exhibition.<br />
