around the world from Larry Boyle, Vice President<br />

of the Chicago Society for Space Studies.<br />

Bring a picnic lunch to the<br />

library’s west lawn at noon. Beverage<br />

and dessert will be provided by the<br />

library. At 12:30 pm, Magic Matt will<br />

present his magic show. In case of<br />

inclement weather, tickets will be handed<br />

out on a first-come, first-served basis<br />

starting at 11:30 am at the Greeter desk<br />

on the day of the performance.<br />

The Explosive Universe<br />

Sanford Morganstein will talk about<br />

the explosive universe including<br />

the Big Bang, the evolution of stars,<br />

supernovas, black holes and the<br />

formation of planets as well as<br />

concepts to understanding the size of<br />

the universe. Mr. Morganstein earned<br />

his Bachelor’s Degree in physics from<br />

MIT and his Master’s in Astrophysics<br />

from the University of Chicago. He<br />

is an inventor with 35 patents and a<br />

volunteer at the Adler Planetarium.<br />
