amp Veselka, located just north
C of Gimli, Manitoba, has been
creating fun summer memories for
happy campers for over 30 years. Every summer
children ages 6-14 are welcomed to Camp
Veselka for an exciting program which features
sports, crafts, culinary arts, Ukrainian culture and
Orthodox religion. The Camp Veselka program is conducted
in English and all children ages 6-14 are welcome to
participate. Ukrainian background is not required.
Campers are supervised by dedicated counsellors – many of
them former Veselka campers – two camp adminstrators, our talented
cook, and the camp priest, Fr. Gene Maximiuk. Children participate
in daily prayer services in the beautiful Orthodox church at the camp.
In 2016 campers enjoyed a wide variety of interesting activities and
experiences. These included sports.
Each Friday night during camp the kids get to let loose and dance
the night away at the weekly zabava. And, every year Camp Veselka
wraps up with campers, parents and guests joining together for a divine
liturgy, followed by a lunch and a fun concert featuring the songs and
dances campers learned over the two weeks. УВ
