Find out what the Romans did for us, and the city<br />

of Lincoln, at The Collection.<br />

There will be Roman themed activities, suitable<br />

for the whole family, including crafts. For a true<br />

Lindum Colonia experience, follow the Roman<br />

trail through the city, ending at The Collection.<br />

Discover what life for children was like in 1916<br />

at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life from costumed<br />

performers, and learn how the war affected them.<br />

Hear about how the Scouts and the Girl Guides<br />

performed their duty during the Great War.<br />

The Museum of Lincolnshire Life will help you learn what life was like<br />

in all walks of life for Lincolnshire ‘Yellowbellies’. Look out for the<br />

fascinating vehicle collection, including an authentic WWI tank.<br />

Celebrate the spirit of 1940s<br />

Britain on Lincoln’s Brayford<br />

Waterfront with a day of activities<br />

full of atmosphere on this summery<br />

Sunday for a 1940s celebration.<br />

You can expect live music from a 1940s performer, swing dance<br />

lessons, Second World War military displays, and hopefully a flypast<br />

from Lincolnshire’s own Lancaster bomber. Trade stalls will offer a<br />

shopping opportunity for some period gifts including a number of<br />

service charity stalls to raise money for the services today.<br />

Journey back in time and<br />

meet the knights Templar at<br />

Lincoln Medieval Bishop’s<br />

Palace – expect tantalizing<br />

tales, clashing combat and<br />

mini-knight recruitment.<br />

Swords will be wielded<br />

and helmets battered<br />

as medieval combat is<br />

displayed in front of your<br />

eyes. Mini knights can pick<br />

a sword and advance in the<br />

children’s battle drill - will<br />

you be good enough to be<br />

knighted and join in the<br />

battle?<br />

Enjoy throughout the day<br />

‘armour through the ages’<br />

where you can see the<br />

differences in armour from<br />

12th Century through to the<br />

War of the Roses.<br />

Leadenham Polo Club<br />

Bring a picnic and blanket<br />

for a summer’s day out<br />

to enjoy live polo at<br />

Leadenham Polo Club home<br />

tournament.<br />

This tournament takes place<br />

on the last weekend of the<br />

summer holidays and is a<br />

great way to round off the<br />

polo season.<br />

There will be Pimms for sale<br />

and a BBQ to help make it a<br />

great day out for all visitors.<br />

Bring a blanket and chairs<br />

and your own picnic if you<br />

wish to enjoy a day of sport<br />

FESTIVAL<br />

3rd September <strong>2016</strong> 10am-5pm<br />

Groups of dancers will perform<br />

in Lincoln city centre and<br />

Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter. The<br />

celebrations will see around 250<br />

dancers and more than 20 Morris<br />

groups sing, dance to music and<br />

clash sticks in colourful costumes.<br />
