Phases of the Moon a Science lesson with special<br />

guests…OREOS!<br />

Year 7 used the Oreos to make the phases of the<br />

moon – it was a tasty lesson. We had to cut the Oreos<br />

in half and scraped the cream to represent the moons<br />

different sides. Don’t worry, we didn’t let good Oreos<br />

Wissey U3A<br />

The Wissey U3A’s 22nd AGM was held on Thursday 4th<br />

May. On 1st June there is to be a presentation by Marina<br />

Shapton entitled ‘Overland to China and Myanmar<br />

(formerly Burma)’. Members interested in writing prose,<br />

plays or poetry can still apply to attend a Creative Writing<br />

Study Day with other U3A members of the Anglia Region<br />

in June. The Table Tennis group have been invited to<br />

take part in a friendly U3A Tournament with Downham<br />

Market in June at their venue in Denver. Members of the<br />

Science & Technology group have arranged a visit to the<br />

Welney Wildlife and Wetland Centre. Although the Softball<br />

Tennis group has closed until September, the Croquet<br />

group has restarted and will continue until October.<br />

the Monthly Meetings at Holme Hale’s Hall on the first<br />

Thursday of every month and give the Wissey U3A a try.<br />
