CLIMBING PATHS
A via ferrata is a mountain climbing route that is secured with iron
ladders, iron rods, cables and clips.
Difficulty levels
K1 Easy
K2 Easy to moderately difficult: some fairly strenuous
or demanding parts
K3 Difficult: most parts strenuous and demanding
K4 Very difficult: very strenuous and very demanding
K5 Extremely difficult: very strenuous and extremely
demanding
K6 More than extremely difficult: very strenuous, extremely
demanding, and requires excellent climbing technique
Mittaghorn (3,143 m a.s.l.), Saas-Fee
A mild to medium difficulty climbing route, which can also be recommended
to newcomers.
Opening Times: End of June to start of October
Duration: Six hours (ascent and descent)
Difficulty level: K 2–3
Starting point: Plattjen or Morenia
Jägihorn (3201 m ü. M.), Saas-Grund
Not only one of the most beautiful climbing routes in Switzerland
but also the highest of the Western Alps.
Opening Times: End of June to mid-October
Duration: Seven hours (ascent and descent)
Difficulty level: K 3 (Variante 4-5)
Starting point: Kreuzboden
Climbing dome
The Parkhaus Saas-Fee accommodates three climbing routes of
different difficulty levels. In addition, the mountain guide office
Saas-Fee offers courses.
Opening Times: Daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Mini via ferrata, Saas-Grund
A rather short but racy climbing route, which also inspires newcomers.
And as a highlight: the 40-meter abseiling experience!
Opening Times: Start of June to start of October
Duration: Two hours (ascent and descent)
Difficulty level: K 3
Starting point: Close to cableway valley station in Saas-Grund
Please note:
Save ten percent with the Citizens’ Pass by the
Active Dreams Mountain Guides. Equipment can
be hired from various sports shops or from the
mountain sport schools. We recommend that
you complete the tours with the help of an experienced
mountain guide (p. 47) and that you
check the weather and climbing conditions in advance.
