INTERNATIONAL
EXPANSION
The result of our hard work now
sees us rapidly expanding our team,
launching TDi Singapore and being
actively engaged in a total of 10
markets internationally where our
method and business model are
playing an influential role (Australia,
New Zealand, the U.K., the U.S.,
Singapore, Egypt, Tonga, Samoa,
Vanuatu and India).
Our work with the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is
a great example of the replicability
of our Method. After a long period
of engagement with DFAT we have
embarked on a pilot project in the
Pacific.
Our Approach in the Pacific:
The most effective and proven way to
reduce global poverty is to promote
sustainable economic growth. Our
experience at TDi demonstrates
that to bridge the gap from aid to
trade we need to develop investable
enterprises able to attract capital and
move away from grant reliance.
Our approach focuses on identifying
and developing small business in the
private sector that will in turn lead to
economic growth and development
in the region. We test and scale
promising business approaches.
Given the recent changes to
Australia’s Aid program, which place
stronger emphasis on building
the capacity of the private sector
within developing countries, there
are strong links between the aims
of the Department and TDi’s work.
Our approach will help ensure that
funds provided have the most impact
on development outcomes, that
enterprise opportunities in the Pacific
region are built on solid business,
financial and operational models, and
that aid is used to leverage long-term
investment and sustainable business
outcomes.
We look forward to strengthening our
international presence in the next
chapter of TDi’s development as we
continue to develop and refine our
Method.
