Smawley Josie Kneller, Alyssa Kuefler and Jules Fetaz received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Christ King Church on May 13. This is a big step in the student’s’ faith journey and they have spent lots of weekends preparing for this throughout the year. Congratulations! The Jr, ATB Bank closed its doors for the school year on May 25. Eight employees successfully helped 21 customers. Tavi Pickles was the lucky winner of the $25 gift card this month. The Kindergarten class hosted Special Guy Night at the school on Sun. May 28. All the Kinderkids brought their dads as guests. The group had fun with some relay races in the gym, a yummy pizza party and they finished the night by building birdhouses together. Theresetta Elementary students walked over to Gus Wetter to participate in our annual Track and Field Meet along with Brownfield School on May 30. The students tried hard in all their events and were only less than one point away from earning the overall school trophy! There were 12 students who took home trophies in their events including: Micah Lefebvre (gr. 1) in ball throw; Simone Fetaz (gr. 2) in running long jump; Daphne Fuller (gr. 2) in the dash; Jack Holloway (gr. 2) in standing broad jump; Owen Beaumont (gr. 2) in high jump; Drew Bagshaw (gr. 4) in running long jump; Lachlan Customer Appreciation Day! 15 % OFF ENTIRE STORE Sunday, June 18 Including The Garden Centre! Missing a shot only takes a mo ment of distraction or not being in just the right position. Technique plays an important role, of course, but golf also involves concentration and strength of mind. The proof? It’s estimated that golfers spend, on average, 90 per cent of their time on the golf course thinking and 10 per cent swinging and hitting the ball. It’s a good illustration of the importance of making the right decisions. Are hybrid clubs really necessary? For all your promotional needs! In other words, the right balance between discipline, movement control and psychology will help you enjoy the game more and improve your score. You also have to learn to control your emotions. It’s often said that a golfer’s behaviour is a reflection of his or her personality. Your main aim should be to play for yourself, to give yourself a challenge. You missed your shot because you looked up or because your swing was too Very few golfers can claim to master the art of successfully hitting a precise shot with a three iron or fairway wood. In recent years, major golf equipment manufacturers have developed a product that allows players to reach distances of between 180 to 200 yards more easily. Developed specifically to replace the long irons and fairway woods, hybrid clubs have lar ger heads and slightly longer shafts, providing a bigger impact surface and a lower centre of gravity. Their design also allows for a higher trajectory, limiting the rolling of the ball on the fairway or the green. This makes it a perfect club to hit a tee shot on a 200-yard par-three hole that’s protected by a body of water and sand traps. With its wi der sole, it also represents a great option for a successful shot in slightly longer grass. Most hybrid clubs on the market have a loft ranging from 15 to 30 degrees. Generally speaking, a club with a loft of between 15 and 20 degrees corresponds to a three or four iron, or a four wood, while a club with a loft between 25 and 30 degrees is equivalent to a five or six iron. Hybrid clubs are now considered to be indispensable items in any golf bag. In fact, three and four irons are now replaced by hybrid clubs in most complete golf sets. You can find out more about this latest trend at your local sports equipment store or from your golf club’s pro. Every golfer should have at least one hybrid club in his or her bag. short? Re member that you can compensate for an error with a perfect putt on the green. Golf can be a frustrating sport if you take it too seriously.
