Exodus 20:9-11
"Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord Thy
God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son,
nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant,
nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the
sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh
day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and
hallowed it."
Six signified the completion of work days. i.e., in six
days, work was complete.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all
the host of them.
Man was created on the 6th day (Gen 1:26,31).
God flooded the whole world when Noah was six hundred
years old (Gen 7:6,11).
Abraham interceded on behalf of the people of Sodom 6
times (Gen 18:16-33).
Leah had 6 sons (Gen 30:19-20)(Gen 35:23).
The Israelites were to gather Manna for 6 days (Ex
16:5,22,29).
The 6th Commandment is "thou shalt not murder" (Ex
20:13)(Deut 5:17).
A Hebrew slave was only to work 6 years and then be
released (Ex 21:2)(Deut 15:12.18)(Jer 34:14).
Jeremiah 34:13-14
