DESERT GAMES A typical game of cricket lasts from four to five days -
including five-o’clock tea and picnic. Fans never get bored with it. ALPINE has
constructed the new cricket stadium in only 28 months.

Soccer is good, cricket is
better: At least this applies
to Great Britain and many
other Commonwealth countries.
Scores of spectators are electrified
with this elitist team game and its
complicated rules. It is not unusual
to have 50,000 or more spectators
at one of the large cricket stadiums
in Australia, India or Pakistan.
Equipped with T-shirt, club scarf,
cap and picnic basket they enthusi-
astically start their club song whenever
their team scored. Each team
consists of eleven players - the only
parallel to soccer.

Tradition is held high in this sport:
The players wear classic attire:
plait-patterned jumpers, white
shirts, long white trousers and a
white cap. The small ball to be hit
is red, hard and very fast. A typical
game lasts from four to five days.
Traditionally there are five-o’clocktea
breaks and the spectators are
equipped for a great and long
sport event, picnic basket and all.
