Travel Itinerary<br />

Day 1 Arrive <strong>Leh</strong><br />

Today you will take early morning flight to <strong>Leh</strong>. Upon arrival, our representatives will assist you at Kushok Bakula<br />

Rinpoche (KBR) Airport for a transfer to your hotel. Once you check into your hotel with all formalities you will be<br />

at leisure for rest of the day. We recommend you this day to get acclimatized with the high altitude climate and<br />

low air pressure so that you become fit for rest of your journey. Evening can be utilized for a short walk to local<br />

markets. Return back to your rooms for overnight stay.<br />

Day 2 <strong>Leh</strong> Lower Indus Valley excursion<br />

After breakfast proceed for a day excursion to Indus Valley and explore its major attractions. While driving from<br />

<strong>Leh</strong> to Indus Valley, you will drive past through Magnetic Hill, one of the wonders of the Himalayas. Just before<br />

the Indus valley, stop at the Nimu valley. The barren yet enchanting landscape is worth every minute you spend<br />

here. If the weather permits, gear up for river rafting in River Indus. The next stop is, the Pathar Sahib<br />

Gurudwara. Lying on <strong>Leh</strong>-Nimu road, this Gurudwara has been built to honor the visit of Guru Nanak, the<br />

founder of Sikh religion to this region. Revel in its scenic beauty and do not miss the excellent adventure<br />

opportunities. Back to <strong>Leh</strong> for overnight stay.<br />

Day 3 <strong>Leh</strong> to Nubra Valley<br />

After breakfast check out hotel and drive to Nubra Valley (125km) crossing Khardongla Pass at 18360ft above<br />

sea level, the world’s highest motorable pass. Afternoon visit Diskit & Hunder Monasteries and the white sand<br />

dunes with perhaps a Camel Safari on the double humped camels which are found only in Nubra as far as India<br />

is concerned. Stay overnight in Nubra Valley.<br />

Day 4 Nubra Valley to <strong>Leh</strong><br />

After breakfast visit Samstanling Monastery and then drive back to <strong>Leh</strong> via Khardongla Pass. Evening you are<br />

free at leisure; opportunity to explore yourself the local bazaars or time for last minute shopping on your own<br />

(items like pure Pashmina shawls, good pearls, Chinese cutleries and beautiful <strong>Ladakh</strong>i wooden handicrafts can<br />

be purchased as a memorabilia). Stay overnight at hotel.<br />

Day 5 <strong>Leh</strong> to Pangong Lake<br />

After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Pangong Lake, a 135 km drive from <strong>Leh</strong>. The Pangong Lake is<br />

140km long and 3-5km wide- more than half of the lake lies in the Tibetan territory. After full day of sightseeing<br />

around the lake check-in at fixed tented camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive back 30kms towards Tangtse<br />

and check into hotel/guesthouse for overnight stay.<br />

Day 6 Pangong Lake to <strong>Leh</strong><br />

Start the day early before the sun is up. The mesmerizing sun rising over the lake is definitely one you would<br />

love to capture in your camera. Marvel at the blessed view. Begin your drive back to <strong>Leh</strong>. Upon arrival in <strong>Leh</strong>,<br />

check-into the hotel, followed by sightseeing. Visit Shanti Stupa, a white-domed Buddhist stupa on a hilltop<br />

offering panoramic views. Next, stop at <strong>Leh</strong> Palace, which is the former royal palace built during the 17th<br />

century. Also visit Hall of Fame Museum, founded and managed by the Army in the memory of war heroes.<br />

Return to your hotel and stay overnight.<br />

Day 7 <strong>Leh</strong> (Monastery Visit)<br />

After breakfast visit Thiksey, Hemis, Spituk, Shey and Stakna monasteries. These spiritual centres are an<br />

architectural marvel with a cultural legacy which creates curiosity in the minds of travelers. Thiksey boasts of<br />

being the largest monastery in the central <strong>Ladakh</strong> region. Hemis is believed to be the largest and wealthiest<br />

monastery in <strong>Leh</strong>. The 11th century Spituk monastery is blessed with breathtaking views of the Indus. Shey is a<br />

popular monastery with huge copper and gilded gold statue of seated Shakyamuni Buddha. Lastly, visit Stakna<br />

monastery that belongs to Drugpa Buddhist sect and is home to around 30 monks.<br />

Day 8 <strong>Leh</strong> departure<br />

Soon after breakfast transfer to Kushok Bakula Airport for your return flight. Tour ends here.<br />
