Travel Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Leh
Today you will take early morning flight to Leh. Upon arrival, our representatives will assist you at
Kushok Bakula Rinpoche (KBR) Airport for a transfer to your hotel. Once you check into your hotel with
all formalities you will be at leisure for rest of the day. We recommend you this day to get acclimatized
with the high altitude climate and low air pressure so that you become fit for rest of your journey.
Evening can be utilized for a short walk to local markets. Return back to your rooms for overnight stay.
Day 2 Leh local tour
Morning at leisure. In afternoon visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace & the markets.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 Leh to Nubra Valley
After breakfast check out hotel and drive to Nubra Valley (125km) crossing Khardongla Pass at 18360ft
above sea level, the world’s highest motorable pass. Afternoon visit Diskit & Hunder Monasteries and
the white sand dunes with perhaps a Camel Safari on the double humped camels which are found
only in Nubra as far as India is concerned. Stay overnight in Nubra Valley.
Day 4 Nubra Valley to Leh
After breakfast visit Samstanling Monastery and then drive back to Leh via Khardongla Pass. Evening
you are free at leisure; opportunity to explore yourself the local bazaars or time for last minute
shopping on your own (items like pure Pashmina shawls, good pearls, Chinese cutleries and beautiful
Ladakhi wooden handicrafts can be purchased as a memorabilia). Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 5 Leh Lower Indus Valley excursion
After breakfast visit Hall of Fame, Kali Mata (Temple of Guardians in Spituk monastery), Gurudwara
Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point and Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar rivers). Overnight in hotel.
Day 6 Leh to Pangong Lake
After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Pangong Lake, a 135 km drive from Leh. The Pangong
Lake is 140km long and 3-5km wide- more than half of the lake lies in the Tibetan territory. After full
day of sightseeing around the lake check-in at fixed tented camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive
back 30kms towards Tangtse and check into hotel/guesthouse for overnight stay.
Day 7 Pangong-Hemis / Thiksey-Leh (165kms)
After breakfast, leave Pangong / Tangtse and retrace the Leh route across Chang-la. Upon reaching
Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, biggest monastery of Ladakh.
Later drive on to Leh, en route visit the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Overnight at hotel in Leh.
Day 8 Leh departure
Soon after breakfast transfer to Kushok Bakula Airport for your return flight. Tour ends here.
