For the first five years of his PRCA career, bull rider Dustin Bowen regularly<br />
found coal in his stocking during Cowboy Christmas.<br />
Injuries derailed Bowen’s hopes of holiday riches during the most<br />
lucrative time of the rodeo season. That all changed this time.<br />
The 26-year-old native of Fredericksburg, Pa., totaled $<strong>21</strong>,5<strong>21</strong> during the<br />
Fourth of July run this year, which included two huge victories.<br />
There were plenty of fireworks on July 4 <strong>for</strong> Bowen, who won titles<br />
at both the World’s Oldest Rodeo in Prescott, Ariz., and the Cody (Wyo.)<br />
Stampede.<br />
“This is one of the first Cowboy Christmas runs that I’ve been healthy<br />
and had things go my way,” Bowen said. “I really haven’t had the chance to go<br />
to a lot of rodeos during this time of year without fighting a bad injury or being<br />
completely out. I tried to not worry about it in the past and to know that I<br />
would eventually have a healthy Fourth of July, and this has definitely been my<br />
best.”<br />
