A THANK YOU NOTE: MAULDIN POLICE<br />
ACADEMY CAMP<br />
Dear Police Academy Camp,<br />
I wanted to share this with you all because we owe a huge thank you to all of you for<br />
the lessons and training taught at the <strong>Mauldin</strong> Police Academy Camp!<br />
Aiden Williams, who attended the camp two years ago, reacted quickly to a situation<br />
that could have resulted quite differently. After plugging in a lithium battery that powers<br />
an Airsoft gun, he heard a pop. The battery quickly after began shooting sparks and<br />
flames. He called 911 while rushing to get a small fire extinguisher from the garage<br />
and he was able to get the fire extinguished just before the Fire Department arrived.<br />
The <strong>Mauldin</strong> Fire Department commended him on his quick reaction! They asked<br />
where he learned that life skill... he responded, “From the <strong>Mauldin</strong> Police Academy<br />
Camp!”<br />
Wow! You may often wonder what these boys and girls take away after weeks of camp<br />
and this is a great example! Thank you all so much for your continued commitment to<br />
this camp! A true example of your training at work! It is more than greatly appreciated!<br />
