Point-of-Rental Offers Flexible Training Classes to fit any Schedule!
By: Alexa Mihalick, Marketing Coordinator, Point-of-Rental Software
Over the past 30 years, our experienced Point-of-Rental
trainers have happily traveled hundreds of thousands of
miles across the world to help rental businesses like yours
transition to our powerful software as seamlessly as possible.
Point-of-Rental employs six trainers whose sole focus is to ensure
our customers know how to best implement and use their new
software. Our customers know Earl Sherman, Scott MacKay, Lynne
Law, Joe White, Sean Konys, and David Jensen by name, voice
and face, but they may not realize this hard-working team could
star in their own version of Planes, Trains and Automobiles! From
frequent flyer miles, to countless rental cars and a few slip-andslide
moments in inclement weather – this team knows the number
one priority is the customer.
We have one motto about training here at Point-of-Rental:
everyone needs it!
“The reality is that, even if you’ve used another rental management
software, it takes time to become truly comfortable with a new
system,” shared Earl Sherman, Customer Support Service
Manager. “Truly knowing how to use the software is of utmost
importance for appreciating all of its features.”
Picture this: You buy a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle and someone
threw the box away, leaving you with no photo to look at. You then
decide that, by trial and error, you will attempt to fit every piece of
the puzzle together. Unfortunately, without a visual reference, it
ends up taking you six months of trial and error to complete instead
of the one-week of enjoyment you could have had.
The same goes for training. You have made the best decision with
your purchase of a software system to help grow your business.
And, while Point-of-Rental Software is Windows-based for ease
of use, the software is very rich and robust with thousands of
features for you to fully incorporate into your business. To expedite
the process, our trainers are the real-time instruction manual you
need to help navigate the Point-of-Rental puzzle together. Training
is essential to your success. And that’s exactly why we have a
team of experienced professionals ready to assist you. You’ll see
immediate benefits, such as your rental counter personnel writing
contracts in minutes.
Training Time
The right amount of training depends on the size and the depth of
the system capabilities required for your business. A rental store
with 2-10 employees at a single location might be trained in only
two days, whereas a larger rental store requires more time due to
the complexity and demands of an operation with more employees
and multiple locations.
Learning the nuances of rental and sale transaction
processing─such as sales, quotes, billing, purchase orders and
reservations─generally requires about eight hours of training.
Understanding and adopting features like accounts receivable,
inventory controls, and database management, could require an
extra additional training days.
Selecting the Best Training Format for You
In addition to the highly recommended on-site training options,
we also offer training online, at our headquarters office in Grand
Prairie, TX, at our annual conference, and at the ARA The Rental
Show.
On-site: This is the most valuable and personal training option.
We will send at least one trainer to your store(s) for training and to
migrate your former system to Point-of-Rental. While this option
requires an additional fee, the benefits include the ability for the
trainer to see your operation live, understand how you do business,
and then make specific recommendations based on these
observations. Our trainers will provide highly customized training
sessions in response to your in-store needs, and every employee
who will be using the software will have the opportunity to attend
this training.
Our offices/online: At least two days of training are included with
your Point-of-Rental Software base license. One or more of your
employees will come to our Texas-based headquarters office, and
we will configure the software with your database loaded onto it.
You will receive hands-on experience, and one of our trainers will
be available to answer all of your questions.
Annual conference/The Rental Show: Every year, we invite each
of our customers to attend our annual training conference (read
more on page 13) to learn about software updates, get refreshed
on techniques to elevate the use of the system, and to network with
other professionals in the rental industry. The Regional Training
held after The Rental Show training is a condensed, one-day
version of the annual conference.
“What it comes down to is this: we believe training helps ensure
success,” said David Jensen, Director of Training. “When you adopt
a software program as robust as Enterprise, it is imperative to learn
how to use it effectively, efficiently and properly for the ROI of the
hundreds of features that Point-of-Rental software has to offer.” P
