The early season top two face off this
afternoon in the pick of the FA Women’s
Premier League Northern Division fixtures.
Huddersfield sit at the summit, just ahead of
Blackburn on goal difference, and will hope to
stay there as they play hosts to the champions
today.
Both recorded 3-0 wins in the cup last
weekend and have won both their opening
league fixtures, free-scoring as they have done
so.
Town in particular have enjoyed themselves
on the attack, with 10 goals scored, but also at
the back where they’ve not yet conceded.
But Rovers are yet to leak a goal either,
though one will surely give this afternoon.
Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and
Guiseley Vixens will all hope to build on their
cup wins last weekend to record their first
league victories.
Guiseley visit Fylde, who were eliminated
from the cup on penalties by Bradford, fresh
off the back of an extra time victory over
Solihull Moors.
West Brom also went to extra time last week,
defeating Long Eaton United 2-1 over 120
minutes. They welcome Stoke, with at least
one to get their first points today.
Elsewhere, a high-flying Leicester City side
play hosts to last year’s runners-up
Middlesbrough, in what should be another

The Foxes have a 100 per cent record so far
this season, but welcome a Boro side full of
confidence after back-to-back wins, despite
losing their season opener.
The remaining fixture today is an East
Midlands derby, as Nottingham Forest and
Derby County clash.
Both scored seven in the cup last weekend,
and sit separated by just one place and one
point going into the game.
A local rivalry, confidence going forward in
both teams will only add to the occasion as
each look to continue their strong starts.
