Kids CREATIVE CLUB MY LOVING CATS I love animals and my biggest wish was to get a cat. Therefore, when my parents surprised me on my birthday, I was happy. I’d like such a surprise! Why? Because I got a cat as a present from them. That was a dream come true for me. The name of my cat is Carlos and he is seven years and so “sweet.” Eventually, I wanted a second cat and I got another. Her name is Xafi. She is four years. At first, I was afraid that Carlos and Xafi would have problems with each other. I expected a fight between them but that did not happen. They loved and accepted each other. They eat, play and sleep together. It is very nice to feed Carlos and Xafi, although sometimes the food smells; but I don’t mind at all. Even though Xafi is younger, she can be sometimes troublesome. For example, she sometimes takes Carlos’ food. But sometimes, Carlos does the same. But I am happy they hardly quarrel or fight each other. Taking care of cats is pretty easy because there are shutters through which the cats can go outside the house themselves whenever they want. When I was in Africa, I saw that the cats roam free and that is very useful because when one goes on holiday or is not home, you then can let the cat just outside. Soon, I’ll be on holiday and we need someone to take care of the cats. This is not always necessary in Africa because the animals can get food from outside. Moreover, there are people like family members who can take care of the animals. Fortunately, our neighbour will help us to take care of Carlos and Xafi when we are on holiday. For me, I think two cats are enough. I hope to meet other kids in Africa with their house pets when next I come to Africa.
