technological, creative, and financial resources at your disposal to successfully start
your own social enterprise. Whether your goal is an MBA, a job in venture capital,
managing a community organization, or becoming a serial entrepreneur, you’ll
develop the skills and experience to do good and do well.
“My dual BA degree coupled with a minor
in Asian studies led me to an internship in
the Chinese Works of Art department at
Christie’s auction house, and a semester
studying in China supported by the Eisner
Scholarship. My coursework in Mandarin
language and Chinese literature and history
at MMC proved extremely relevant to the
work I did as an intern and, after graduation, I
accepted a permanent position with Christie’s
New York.”
▶ ▶
—James Matson ’14
“MMC has given me the opportunity to
combine my business major with my interest
in America’s first fashion magazine—Harper’s
Bazaar. Interning at Harper’s Bazaar has
helped me become more comfortable in a
fast-paced work environment, and to see how
a corporation functions. Prepping for photo
shoots, organizing inventory, and supporting
editors with daily tasks is a great way to learn
a business.”
▶ ▶
—Kylie Whitehouse ’17
“After landing my current internship at The Dr.
Oz show, I have found that I love the TV industry
even more. The most exciting part about my job
is that every day is a new day.”
“What did I enjoy most at Marymount
Manhattan? First and foremost would be the
faculty of the business division. Each member
of this team brings forth an unprecedented
knowledge base in an array of subject matter.
But what separates them from simply being
intellects is their pride and love for teaching.”
—Jacob Webber ’12
course, but what about the more practical
aspects of a business, such as creating
a business plan, securing investors, and
establishing a growth strategy? The BS in
entrepreneurship will provide everything you
need to develop your original ideas into new
“I came to Marymount by coincidence. But the
benefits I have obtained studying business and
finance at MMC far exceeded my expectations.
The small class size allows professors to pay
more individual attention when necessary.
Needless to say, the faculty here really strive
to provide the best learning experience and
networking opportunities. During my senior
year, I participated in the Bloomberg Trading
Competition with several peers. Through this
activity I was able to gain hands-on experience
in trading and enhance my understanding
about the financial market. In addition,
because of the faculty support, I was accepted
to graduate programs in computer science
at Pace University and New York Institute of
Technology. I can hardly express how much I
appreciate everything the school has given me.”
— Yu Lu ’17
“The business program at Marymount Manhattan is a hidden jewel with
professors who are both excellent professionals and dedicated mentors. I
was encouraged to constantly challenge myself and explore career paths. My
advisors and professors helped me obtain scholarships and internships and
were great counselors when it came to selecting a job from among six offers I
received before graduation. I accepted a position as a global commercial risk
analyst with Citigroup.” — Blake Balsamo ’15
