24 THE WEEKLY TIMES Wednesday 13 December, 2017 Santa’s visit delights local Graves family A TOY BUNNY RABBIT, a model car and a baby rattle are a Macquarie Park family’s special request to Santa for Christmas. The Graves family visited Santa on Level One of the Macquarie Shopping Centre on Friday and put their Christmas wishes to him, in person. “It was a special occasion for our family, we were delighted to meet Santa and we will be thrilled to see the photo in our local newspaper,” Mum Prue Graves said. Santa said that - while he mostly lives at the North Pole - he loves to visit The Weekly Times territory and have his photo taken with local families. He will be at Macquarie Shopping Centre from 9.30am until 6pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as well as from 9am to 8pm on Thursday and from 9am to 6pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ross and Prue Graves and their children Harriet, Jude and three month old Freddy meet Santa at Macquarie Park Shopping Centre on Friday. Santa looks forward to meeting local families and having his photo taken with them. TWT on-the-spot PHOTO Christ-massive generosity for Toys N Tucker Appeal Rev David Mears, Senior Minister at Christ Church Gladesville, pictured in front of a small portion of donations in this year’s Anglicare Toys N Tucker Christmas Appeal. “We’ve been blown away by our community’s generosity” said Rev Mears in response to the collection of new toys and food from Gladesville and Putney residents. Anglicare needed to send a 1.5 tonne van to collect the donations. The appeal was run by Christ Church Gladesville who worked in partnership with Putney Public School and Christ Church Gladesville Pre-School in asking neighbours, school families and friends to donate tinned food, toiletry items or toys. “Christmas reminds us of God’s gift to us in Jesus, so it seems fitting that our community would reflect that generosity in their gifts to others,” Rev Mears said. “Our church has been part of the Gladesville community for almost 140 years and we love being able to encourage our neighbours to look out for those less fortunate. I’m thankful to God for Principal John Koletti, Director Tara Downton and all the families at Putney Public and Christ Church Preschool for their help in this collection.” All donations were collected by Anglicare to be packaged into gift boxes at their warehouse in Villawood. Christmas Services at Christ Church Gladesville are 5pm, 7pm and 11pm (Christmas Eve) and 8am and 9:30am (Christmas Day). All welcome.
