The Girl Scouts used money they earned selling Girl Scout cookies to purchase the pajamas, and received donations from families. Girls in the troop are in 1st and 2nd grades at East Montpelier Elementary, Calais Elementary, Union Elementary, and Websterville Baptist School. • Central Vermont Humane Society’s Walk for Animals was held on June 3rd and raised over $60,000 to help save over 1000 animals at CVHS. The top adult fundraiser raised over $3500. This year, many kids raised funds, including the winner for Top Team. Team Natalie and Chloe, two teenagers, raised over $1000 for animals. • The U32 8th grade class took its annual trip to Washington, D.C. On the trip, they expanded their studies by visiting the Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian Natural Museum, Smithsonian American Museum and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. They also visited and paid their respects at the Washington Memorial, WW2 Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korea Memorial, US Marine Corps Memorial, the many monuments around the tidal basin, and Arlington Cemetery. Breer graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
