The security industry is busy and complex, so it’s easy to miss
new products and services as they get lost in day-to-day
activities. Every now and again, certain products grab our
attention so here we take a look at some of the products we
think you won’t want to miss this month.
Two new intruder products
launched at once
RISCO Group has released two new
products to the intruder market with
LuMIN8 Delta Plus, a backlit
sounder allowing installers to
promote their business and brand at night and
Beyond, a wired outdoor detector.
The LuMIN8 Delta Plus is housed in vandalproof
polycarbonate, features double tamper
protection and allows for remote diagnostics and
control.
Beyond (pictured above) is an outdoor
detection solution based on a set of PIR and
microwave technologies to meet the challenges
and solve the problems of outdoor volumetric
detection. Beyond assures a combination of high
catch levels and false alarm immunity with two K-
Band microwave and two PIR channels. Detection
technologies such as Sway Recognition and
Digital Correlation reduce false alarms in outdoor
environments, such as naturally swaying
shrubbery surrounding houses or facilities.
Pulsed LED illuminators for
fast moving object lighting
Raytec has launched Pulsestar, a range of pulsed
LED illuminators designed for ANPR/LPR and
machine vision applications.
Pulsestar delivers on-demand lighting to
illuminate fast moving objects. The lighting pulse
of the illuminator can be synced with the camera
shutter via a TTL input to ensure maximum light
levels precisely when
necessary.
Featuring up to
880W of lighting drive
power and using
Platinum Elite twincore
SMT LEDs with
an interchangeable
lensing system,
Pulsestar delivers
illumination power on
scene for the best
image capture
performance from
image analysis and
LPR systems.
The series is
available as a range of
Infra-Red and White-
Light pulsed LED
illuminators.
New monitoring platform designed to cut false alarms
Calipsa has announced a new monitoring platform
designed to provide real-time analytics to alarm receiving
centres (ARCs) and help reduce the number of false
security alarms every year. The platform is built on ‘Deep
Learning’ models by machine learning and artificial
intelligence experts.
Calipsa’s integrated alarm receiving solution applies software to
intercept false alarms, confirming their legitimacy and passing only
genuine alarms to operators at the monitoring station.
Customers benefit from analytics developed using algorithms that
can quickly process and analyse video feeds to detect humans, vehicles
or animals at the scene, then filter out false alarms and detect real
alarms –all in real time. Staff members are thus able to concentrate on
legitimate alarms, and reduce the risk of missed incidents.
Designed to work with any existing IP camera or video source, the
technology can be deployed via the cloud with no upfront investment.
