Pretty Woman
March 31, 2018
Led by Vic Passante
Pretty Woman is premiering in Chicago
in a Pre-Broadway run, and UW Colleges
can take you there. With music by Bryan
Adams and Jim Vallance, whose Reckless
album featuring classics like “Summer of
69”, was released close to the same time
as the popular Julia Roberts’ film Pretty
Woman. The book for the musical is written
by the recently deceased Garry Marshall
and is destined to dazzle Broadway once
it gets there this
summer, but we get
to see it first. This
day trip includes
Orchestra seating,
a fantastic lunch at
The Italian Village, and transportation with
host, retired drama director Vic Passante,
on a Coach USA, (a.k.a. our university on
wheels).
Price: $269
Sneak Peek!
THE ADIRONDACKS
UW Colleges is considering taking a group
on an adventure to the Adirondacks next
fall. We hope to spend a couple of days
in North Creek, NY and then a couple in
Lake Placid. We’ll explore the splendor of
autumn colors, waterfalls and the Adirondacks
mountains and do some railbiking
with Revolution Rail Company, a fun
excursion activity that allows you to ride
the railroad tracks under your own power
and explore a section of the Adirondacks
that has never seen passenger traffic. Send
an email to wakce@uwc.edu if you are interested
in getting on our pre-registration
interest list! Check our website in March to
see if we will offer this opportunity in fall,
Ashville and Nashville:
Culture and Cuisine
April 5 – 12, 2018
Led by Vic Passante
In the spirit of the past seven years of our
Blues and Greens foodie tours, UW Colleges
Southeast Region is proud to present
our eighth entry, Asheville and Nashville:
Culture and Cuisine! We again paired the
music and art scene of two great cities
with some of their most famous restaurants.
Have shrimp and grits and hot chicken
(don’t worry) in Nashville and listen to
the best music in the country. Eat farm-totable,
creative dishes and visit galleries and
mansions in Asheville. Heck, we’ll spend
three nights in the shadow of the Biltmore,
the Vanderbilt mansion. In Nashville, we’ll
visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and
Museum, Bicentennial Capital Mall, the
Gulch District, the Parthenon and more.
We’ll see shows at the Grand Ole Opry or
the Ryman Auditorium (artists TBD). In
Asheville, we’ll visit the River Arts District
and have a special tour of the Biltmore
Mansion. In addition, we’ll have plenty of
time to enjoy Biltmore Village. On our way
home, we’ll stop for a night in Cincinnati
for our final delicious meal. Trip includes 3
nights in Nashville, 3 nights
in Ashville and 1 night in
Cincinnati, most meals and
admission to museums and
some entertainment venues.
Come join the well-fed Blues
and Greens family!
