Book fair aims
to revamp
library
• By Hanna Reynolds
LYTTELTON PRIMARY School will
hold a book fair to raise funds for its
library.
The school rebuild and merger left
the library out of action for a few years
and in need of re-invigoration.
A second-hand book sale will take
place at the school hall on Saturday,
November 5, at 9am, to raise money to
overhaul the school library collection.
“We are behind a big push to make
it a fabulous and richly-resourced hive
of inspiration for the children,” parent
Ruth Connor said.
“Although the new school building
has a beautiful library space, it has
limited funding and really needs an
update to make it an attractive and rich
resource for the children,” she said.
The fair will also raise awareness
about the value of books and libraries.
It will take place at the end of the
school’s book week, in which there
will be visiting authors and a character
parade to encourage reading.
Book donations are appreciated and
can be made at the school office during
school hours.
The book fair will run from 9am-
2pm in the Lyttelton Primary School
Hall, Sumner Rd. For more details,
