Pupils have week in Wellington<br />

DIAMOND <strong>Harbour</strong><br />

School’s year 7 and 8 Kereru<br />

class spent the first week of<br />

this term in Wellington on<br />

camp.<br />

Highlights included a<br />

tour of parliament and an<br />

audience with Speaker of<br />

the House David Carter,<br />

workshops at the MindLab<br />

and making an OnTV news<br />

programme at CapitalE. The<br />

class also loved the meals out,<br />

the trip on the cable car to the<br />

THE BAYS Cluster annual speech contest<br />

was held at Our Lady Star of the Sea two<br />

weeks ago. Speech finalists from bay area<br />

schools came together for the inter-school<br />

Space Place and an afternoon<br />

in Te Papa.<br />

Meanwhile, Diamond <strong>Harbour</strong>’s<br />

Kotare class enjoyed<br />

their long-awaited school<br />

camp at Living Springs.<br />

The class had fun<br />

orienteering, trampolining,<br />

playing mini golf, long<br />

games of tag, archery,<br />

riffle shooting, scaling the<br />

bouldering wall, swimming,<br />

horse and tractor riding and<br />

animal feeding.<br />

clinical research study of an investigational<br />

procedure for diabetes being conducted at<br />

Auckland City Hospital, Middlemore Hospital,<br />

Wellington Hospital, Christchurch Hospital<br />

and Dunedin Hospital. The procedure is<br />

similar to a coronary angioplasty so this will<br />

be conducted by a cardiologist.<br />

Who cannot take part?<br />

• Age below 18 years or above 70 years<br />

• If you have certain medical conditions<br />

such as kidney failure or liver damage<br />

• If your diabetes is already well controlled<br />

(your HbA1c is below 58mmol/mol)<br />

Transport costs will be reimbursed<br />
