Lana Doublet says she is ‘over the moon’ aer<br />
claiming the NZ Country Music Awards<br />
Songwriter of the Year for the 3rd consecutive<br />
year.<br />
“e song that won my recent title is called<br />
'Together Apart' - inspired aer watching an<br />
Attitude Live documentary of the same name<br />
that told a beautifully sad story about how a<br />
family lived with the struggle of dementia.”<br />
Taking place in Rotorua on Saturday 14th<br />
<strong>October</strong>, the prestigious NZCMA event is<br />
considered the pinnacle for winners of<br />
regional Country Music competitions.<br />
“I've always had a love of music and<br />
storytelling but it wasn't until I was<br />
introduced to the country music scene aer<br />
meeting my husband Phil Doublet, that I was<br />
able to combine the two,” said Lana. “I have<br />
always been very stage-shy, and still get<br />
extremely nervous, so thankful for the<br />
constant support and encouragement from<br />
family and friends telling me 'I can'.”<br />

With her debut EP complete, Lana says she<br />
will be releasing it in conjunction with the<br />
South Island Tour of NZ Songwriters in the<br />
Round hitting the road in late November.<br />
Lana plays live at Songwriters in the Round<br />
at Alvarado’s on Stevens St this ursday along<br />
with Phil Doublet, Al Hunter, and Cam Luxton.<br />
