For some of the children gathered at the Debra International conference recently,<br />

skiing was something they never thought they would be able to do. The conference<br />

was held for people with a rare skin condition, epidermolysis bullosa, which can mean<br />

their skin is so fragile it can blister or break when touched. The event drew more than<br />

100 people from Australia and New Zealand.<br />

OAKLANDS SCHOOL has been<br />

busy making the most of spring<br />

planting their new European<br />

seed potatoes.<br />

The school was one of 40<br />

schools nationwide to receive<br />

a donation of potatoes from<br />

gardening company Fiesta Bulbs.<br />

It comes after a recent partnership<br />

with the Garden to Table<br />

project.<br />

Garden to Table is an educational<br />

programme designed<br />

to equip pupils with food and<br />

gardening skills.<br />

“We love to see children growing<br />

their own in the garden,<br />

especially potatoes, so it made<br />

perfect sense for us to get on<br />

board,” Fiesta Bulbs managing<br />

director John Harrison said.<br />
