Sport New Zealand Rural Travel<br />
Funding is available for <strong>Selwyn</strong><br />
sport teams who need to travel<br />
to local competition games and<br />
have members aged 5-19. School<br />
competitions in school time are<br />
not eligible. This funding round<br />
is for summer sports only. For<br />

DISRUPTION TO WATER RACE<br />
SERVICE – ROLLESTON<br />
Council contractors will soon start<br />
piping the Tennyson Street water<br />
race between Kidman Street to<br />
south of the Rolleston School.<br />
This is part of a series of roading<br />
upgrades planned as part of the<br />
Rolleston Town Centre Master<br />
Plan starting with providing a<br />
roundabout at the intersection<br />
of Tennyson Street, Byron Street<br />
and Kidman Street. Piping of<br />
the water race will enable a<br />
new footpath to be installed<br />
and parking improvements to<br />
occur along Rolleston Schools’<br />
frontage, which will then<br />
progressively extend south along<br />
Tennyson Street over time.<br />
Schick Construction will be<br />
undertaking water race works<br />
between 21 <strong>November</strong> and<br />
22 December <strong>2016</strong>. Work will<br />
recommence in late January until<br />
the end of February 2017. Water<br />
race users will experience a<br />
reduced water race supply during<br />
this time as pumps will be used<br />
to divert water around the work<br />
site. Questions relating to this<br />
disruption should be directed to<br />
the Council on 347 2800.<br />

Sports Bodies Inc, an on<br />
licence renewal from Halycon<br />
New Zealand Co., and an off<br />
licence renewal from Straight<br />
8 Estate. Applications are<br />
open for submissions until 22<br />
<strong>November</strong>. An application for<br />
an on licence has been received<br />
from Dunsandel Store which is<br />
open for submissions until 16<br />
