Spring gardening guide | 2017
intelligro is the leading landscape centre in the
Selwyn district, providing top quality landscape and
garden supplies to both commercial customers and
the general public. Open 7 days a week, we are
here to help you with your tasks, be it big or small.
Spring is a time of growth and development, and the list of jobs to do is endless.
With the weather warming up and daylight savings here, now is the perfect time to
get stuck into the garden.
Intelligro has made some exciting changes to their site, which we hope you will love.
Entrance and exit is now available off Weedons Ross Road, as is the usual Main South
Road entrance for now. Please adhere to all safety and speed signs, and follow the
big green signs directing you to our new landscape centre.
We look forward to seeing you in store soon!
“To-Do List”
• Veggie gardens are hugely popular. Whether they
are raised beds, planters, pots or containers,
Intelligro Veggie Garden Mix is ideal. It is packed
with nutrients that your veggies will thrive on
through the growing season. It is available in
bulk, as well as in 35L bags. This is our top seller!
• Healthy soil makes for healthy plants. Compost,
fertiliser and mulch are essentials when it comes
to creating and maintaining a healthy growing
environment for whatever you are planting.
Add these now if you haven’t done so yet.
• If you are sowing seeds, make sure you have
choose ones that will grow in our climate zone,
and follow the sowing instructions. This will help
to get the best results from the seeds.
• If you are looking to plant tomatoes, wait until
Labour Weekend unless you have a glasshouse.
These hungry plants require a lot of nutrients
through their growing season, and continue to
need it even when they have started to produce
their fruit. Using a top quality potting mix like Patio Plus, or Tomato Mix is essential
for a bountiful crop. A topdressing fertiliser is on the must have list as well. You can
use Intelligro Tomato Fertiliser or Top Dressing Fertiliser depending on where you
have planted the tomatoes.
