goodbye to Newport
Following a detailed review,
St George Bank has shut its
Newport branch. The bank
says the closure was due to
fewer customers due to a
decline in over-the-counter
transactions. “We are committed
to helping our customers
through a number of ways,
including face-to-face banking
at our Mona Vale branch
or Bank@Post at Newport’s
Australia Post,” a spokesperson
said. “Our ATM will
remain at the same location,
and customers can also access
their banking 24/7 through
our Internet, Mobile and Phone
banking services.”

for Lifeline

Mums are staging their ‘Surf
Mums for Life Fest’ to raise
funds for Lifeline Northern
Beaches at the North Narrabeen
SLSC on Saturday April 1
from 3pm. The family friendly
event includes live bands, face
painting, pop-up burger stall,
raffles, a cash bar and more.
Entry costs $20 for adults and
a gold coin donation for kids.

works continue
Roads and Maritime Services
is reminding motorists of
continuing changed traffic
conditions on Mona Vale Road
over the next two months for
investigation work to be carried
out between Terrey Hills
and Mona Vale. Work including
survey, geotechnical and
utility investigations is being
carried out between Ingleside
and Mona Vale to inform the
proposed upgrade of Mona
Vale Road East from two to
four lanes. Work will be carried
out until Wednesday 31
May from 7am-6pm between
Monday and Friday (weather
permitting), excluding public
holidays. Up to six nightshifts
will also be carried out between
6pm-7am. Investigation
work will also continue until
May 31 between Terrey Hills
and Ingleside for the proposed
Mona Vale Road West
upgrade. Work will be carried
out between McCarrs Creek
Skate and scoot at Mona Vale
The Mona Vale Skate Ramp will host the Northern Beaches
Street Skate and Scooter comp on Saturday April 8. Registrations
commence 10am with racing starting 11am and
concluding at 4pm. A workshop will also be conducted by
Skater HQ. There are great prizes to be won plus there’s a
free BBQ. Entry to the event is free; helmets compulsory.

precinct plan
Planning for the precinct
around the new Northern
Beaches Hospital in Frenchs
Forest is set to move to the
next stage, with the threemonth
public exhibition of
the plan now closed. Northern
Beaches Council Deputy General
Manager Andrew Pigott
said the high level of community
engagement had been
pleasing. “More than 1,000
people attended the nine
community drop-in sessions
and we received more than
800 submissions,” he said.
“We appreciate the effort and
time everyone has taken.” The
project team will now review
all submissions. It is expected
a report will be presented to
Council in July.

are thrilled with the turnout
and success of the recent
35th year of the event – with
583 ladies playing golf over
seven days at seven stunning
northern beaches golf courses
and raising $8688 for women
