ACOP celebrates
golden anniversary
Consolidated creative group
Artists and Craftsmen of
Pittwater celebrate their 50th
Anniversary in 2017 – and the
call is out for locals to come
forward with photos or articles
relating to ACOP exhibitions
that the group hope can be
used in their Celebration Exhibition
later this year.
ACOP are proud
to still be presenting
locally made art and
craft for sale – the
first of four exhibitions
at Mona Vale
Memorial Hall in
2017 will be from
April 20-22 – with a
People’s Choice Art
Award the feature.
New work on display will
include dried and silk flower
arrangements using found objects,
plus bases and wreaths
made from organic materials.
This collection has been
designed by Rose Savage.
Children’s clothing (made by
Ruth) features a range of skirts
for young girls, featuring frills
and glitzy lace.
Their artists have new
collections in mixed media,
oils, acrylics, watercolours,
plus photography and framed
prints. Kathy’s popular, quirky
art will feature some Animeand
Manga-style influences
to complement the Japanese
Collectibles
(left).
Linda Joyce and
mixed media artist
Allen Goodman will
also exhibit.
There are myriad
items to pore over
– browse felt mermaids
and creatures,
glass terrariums,
mosaics, folk art, jewellery,
wooden burls, porcelain, patchwork,
knitting, paper tole, baby
ware, embroidery, silk scarves,
silver wire jewellery, art cards,
glass, cushions and bunting.

Change of direction for Trail
The Pittwater Artists Trail is
excited to be stepping in a new
direction – as well as established
‘Trailers’, a host of new and
exciting artists will be opening
their studio doors for the first time
when the 2017 Trail kicks off in
October. First though there will
be an exciting launch exhibition
over the June long weekend (June
9-12), to showcase a selection of
work from each artist and a hint

Art Society call for members
The North Shore Art Society
– a non-profit community
organisation formed in 1946
– is calling for new members.
The Society is based on the
Northern Beaches, with many
members from the local area,
who enjoy the creative process
amongst fellow artists.
“We hold monthly workshops
and demonstrations
with visiting tutors, helping to
develop the skills of our members,”
says NSAS president,
June Rodden. “These events
are quite social occasions as
well as highly informative.”
The Society also holds
fortnightly Plein Air Painting
mornings in the local area,
followed by a get-together at
a local café for coffee or
lunch. Their Plein Air Painting
mornings are free to attend.
“Two exhibitions are usually
held each year at various venues,
where members can exhibit
and sell their works,” explained
June. “Members help with the
running of these exhibitions,
which are fun and social events.”
When joining the North
Shore Art Society you can
choose to be a Social Member
or an Exhibiting Member.
All members are entitled to
attend all workshops and
demonstrations – however,
only Exhibiting Members are
entitled to exhibit their work
through the Society.
