is a doctor; unlike Mary he is

“The play is a wonderful
story about a family of misfits
who are simultaneously loveable,
tragic and funny,” says
director Sarah Lovesy, who is
being assisted on the production
by Robert Longley. “It is
a tragic-comedy performed in
the style of heightened realism
with touches of the surreal.”

Water features Sandra Muscat-
Bowers as Vi, the surreal elegant
Mother. Karen Pattinson
plays Mary, the middle sister
who has an air of sensuality
and superiority about her. Diane
Howden plays Teresa, the
eldest sister who is a woman
of extremes. Lela Keighley is
Catherine, the youngest sister
who is free spirited but with
attention-grabbing histrionics.
Gerard Hawkins and Michael
McCrann play the celebrity
Doctor and frustrated husband
respectively.
