The essence of PLACE is to be 100% present and plugged into what is<br />
important. PLACE pulls together facts and stories to synchronize our history<br />
with where we are today and helps to communicate relevance. We can begin to<br />
establish our PLACE in the community by taking the time to volunteer with<br />
groups that interest us and to determine the needs and interests of the people<br />
around us.<br />
DISCOVERING YOUR PLACE<br />
Look for historic signs & landmarks when you travel.<br />
Listen to, read, and watch autobiographical stories.<br />
Make time to do and learn something different each day.<br />
Visit a library, heritage trail, museum or national park.<br />
Support local, non-profit community organizations.<br />
Where we are is not who we are; it merely provides the background for our<br />
story. The notion of being at home can be both a mindset and an actual location.<br />
Each day we can shape our surroundings and our relationships to create the<br />
type of life we want.<br />
