Spring Branch Community Health Center<br />

In the heart of Spring Branch, the Spring Branch Community<br />

Health Center continuously identifies and responds to<br />

community needs by opening new facilities and leveraging<br />

collaborative partnerships to help reduce health disparities in<br />

underserved areas. SBCHC offers a wide range of medical,<br />

mental health, and oral health services including women’s health<br />

and prenatal/postpartum care. SBCHC has established a new<br />

partnership with The Women’s Home to provide pediatric and adult<br />

healthcare services at their new Whole Life Service Center.<br />

The <strong>Chapelwood</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> awarded a grant to the Spring Branch<br />

Community Health Center to help with SBCHC’s annual Back to<br />

School Vaccination Drive. Below are a few highlights from the <strong>2016</strong><br />

annual event:<br />

• 427 children were vaccinated<br />

• 1,164 vaccines were administered<br />

• 386 backpacks filled with school<br />

supplies were distributed<br />

• 80 volunteers donated more than<br />

762 hours<br />

A few general statistics about their <strong>2016</strong> patients:<br />

• 60% do not speak English<br />

• 51% are uninsured<br />

• 56% reported income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level<br />

(FPL) - <strong>2016</strong> criteria for one person was less than $24,000/year.<br />
