Community The Chapelwood Foundation shares God’s grace through awarding community grants to local organizations in Spring Branch and Greater Houston. These gifts help meet the critical needs of food, housing, medical care, employment, education, and other essentials. 10

Spring Branch Community Health Center In the heart of Spring Branch, the Spring Branch Community Health Center continuously identifies and responds to community needs by opening new facilities and leveraging collaborative partnerships to help reduce health disparities in underserved areas. SBCHC offers a wide range of medical, mental health, and oral health services including women’s health and prenatal/postpartum care. SBCHC has established a new partnership with The Women’s Home to provide pediatric and adult healthcare services at their new Whole Life Service Center. The Chapelwood Foundation awarded a grant to the Spring Branch Community Health Center to help with SBCHC’s annual Back to School Vaccination Drive. Below are a few highlights from the 2016 annual event: • 427 children were vaccinated • 1,164 vaccines were administered • 386 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed • 80 volunteers donated more than 762 hours A few general statistics about their 2016 patients: • 60% do not speak English • 51% are uninsured • 56% reported income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) - 2016 criteria for one person was less than $24,000/year. 11
