26 Funding available Funding for projects or community groups in Orrell and Billinge is now available from the Saturday Breakfast Community Fundraisers organisation. The group, who have donated over £7,000 since March 2016, now have £1,500 available. Applications for the funding must be received by 28th February and you can pick up application form from the Local Life offices on Hewitt Business Park on Winstanley Road in Orrell or email Michael Winstanley on mwinstanleym@aol.com. Saturday Breakfast is now open every Saturday until the end of June, and is served at the Straw Bale Café at Greenslate Farm on Greenslate Road in Billinge between 9-11.30am. The Saturday Breakfast operation is run wholly by volunteers and the group is always looking for willing additions so if you think that you would like to get involved, email Alison Butlin on alisonbutlin@me.com or call in to the café between 9-11.30am on Saturday. Summer sport The YMCA Community Bowling Green, located just off Winstanley Road, opens on April 1, and will be then open throughout the summer until the first week in October. The cost for the entire season is £22 and everyone is welcome to join. For more details please call Brian Atherton on 01695 622138. More parking An extra 92 parking spaces will be made available from this May at Wigan Infirmary. Some concessions will be available, including to those who are visiting patients who have been in for more than 14 days. Looking to target new customers in 2018?
