Reece eyes up another national title<br />

BURWOOD PARK’S Reece Falck<br />
will be looking to bring home<br />
another national tennis title when<br />
he competes in Auckland on<br />
Saturday.<br />
Fifteen-year-old Reece, who<br />
was crowned national 14 and<br />
under champion last year, will<br />
compete in the national junior<br />
team’s event in the 16 and under<br />
section and in the 16 and under<br />
singles and doubles tournament.<br />
He said he is excited to get<br />
stuck in at the tournament and<br />
feels he has a good opportunity to<br />
take another national title.<br />
“I am feeling pretty confident.<br />
I am hitting the ball pretty well,”<br />
he said.<br />
Reece returned from<br />
Auckland last week where he<br />
attended a three-day training<br />
camp working on technique and<br />
fitness.<br />
The Shirley Boys’ High School<br />
student is coached by his father<br />
Andrew, who is the head coach at<br />
the Burwood Park club.<br />
He will also compete in the<br />
doubles with fellow Cantabrian<br />
Jamie Garbett, 16, and in the<br />
national junior team’s event and<br />
said the team has good depth and<br />
should be in with a chance to win<br />
a title.<br />
Canterbury is sending three<br />
teams to the event.<br />
The 16 and under team, who<br />
will compete in Auckland from<br />

Annabel Coates, Monique Hore<br />
and Tessa McCann.<br />
The 14 and under and 12 and<br />
under teams will compete at<br />
Wilding Park, Christchurch,<br />
from <strong>January</strong> 17-20.<br />
The 14 and under team includes<br />
Abby Mason, Jenner Johnson,<br />
Charlie Morrison, Jordan Edwards,<br />
Nant Prachuabmoh, Farrah<br />
Richards, Taylah Holdem and<br />
Jade Feneon.<br />
The 12 and under team<br />
features Liam Barrett, Duncan<br />
McCall, Ethan Cooke,<br />
Wonjeong Kim, Harry Pugh,<br />
Ruby Young, Tatum Falck and<br />
Lily Parkinson.<br />
