Fundamentally, the Freeride is still the novice-friendly bike it<br />

should be. We had a great time hurling it up and down the hills,<br />

clambering through the rock beds and hopping logs and stuff.<br />

The girls did look a bit wide eyed by the end of it all – interestingly,<br />

Maddy preferred the really tame power from the 350, while Mandy<br />

is pretty determined that she’ll be upgrading to the new 250 soon.<br />

Its low seat height (915mm), light weight (98.5kg), short wheel<br />

base (1418mm) plus precise and light controls means if you’re not<br />

so confident riding, or you prefer a bike that is just so capable and<br />

chilled to ride, then this bike is for you.<br />

Now this 250 actually belongs to Vernon Schultz, a customer<br />

of ours. He and his Mrs traded their 2-strokes in on these two. He<br />

explains the though process behind it all:<br />

“In January 2015, my wife Rene` and I took delivery of our new<br />

KTM Freerides , 250 R 2 stroke. This after having “no name brands<br />

“for a few months ! During the time that we had the KTM`s, we<br />

loved them and rode every single weekend ; all the local tracks as<br />
