Anne: “Suddenly, it is looking out at the
world, as an observer, and saying 'Hang
on a minute, you are saying this but you
do that! So your Godlike status has
suddenly been stripped from my eyes!'
“And that part of us is trying to keep us
safe, trying to make sure that we are
OK. Some of us go into the realms of
complete cynicism and say 'Oh my god!
Everything is a lie and they are all out
to get me!' Some of us just learn to live
with it and say 'Some days I am a bit
more cynical than other days and some
days I hate the world!!!”
Richard: “So is imagination and play in
the conscious mind?!”
Anne: “Well, you get taken back to
parts of your life. It's called
'Revivification', so you live a memory. It
is not to say that is exactly what
happened, but it is the emotional part
of the memory. So say Mummy and
Daddy had big fights when you were 5
years old and you were really
frightened at that age, because you
were little and you didn't know what
the hell was going on!
"So you can go back to that moment
and relive it in a safe place because the
therapist is there.”
“So you can re-experience it and talk to
the people, you can interact with them
and then as you come back out of the
hypnosis, you can look back with an
adult and critical mind. At 5 years old,
we don't understand what is going on.”
“And these experiences create these
core beliefs that we follow and we
repeat them because we think they are
true. So it is almost like onion layers. So
the onion layers build and we have the
belief that Mummy didn't love me
because she said she had the wrong
baby from the hospital. Now as an
adult we know that is rubbish! But a 5
year old doesn't know that!”
“The thing is that this is the first belief
they have. They might not even know
that they remember this, but that is not
what the emotional mind thinks. It still
thinks that that is true. So when you do
regression work, you are clearing up
those basic misunderstandings.”
Richard: “Which are creating these
emotions later in life?”
Anne: “Yes. But the 3 Principle Work is slightly
different, because with regression you are working
with the subconscious-mind. The conscious mind lies
and makes it all dismissable, as if it is not important or
it doesn't really matter. But the emotional mind is
terrified because it is aware of itself.”
“I love doing regression work. When I do it people
open up and come with something totally random and
nothing to do with what we were talking about
beforehand! But then they come back two weeks
later and whatever they wanted to deal with has gone
spontaneously. For example, they come to deal with
boundary issues with their boss and they do
regression work and next time I see them they don't
have any boundary issues, they are just creating them
without thinking about it!”
Richard: “The regression work is under hypnosis?”
Anne: “Yes, we ask the conscious mind to park itself.
We say 'You are watching all of this, but you go over
there for a little minute, while I have a conversation
over here.”
Richard: “Is the conscious mind what some people
would call the Ego?”
