This program allows residents to select a tree from a list of six different species with the option to upgrade to a larger size. Participation in the shared-cost Cooperative Tree Planting Program allows the Village to maximize the number of trees planted annually, which helps keep the community green. Vehicle stickers on sale 2018 Vehicle Stickers are on sale now. All vehicles registered in the State of Illinois with a Wilmette address, must also be registered with the Village through the purchase of a vehicle license sticker. The costs for these stickers are listed below: Passenger — $80 Motorcycle — $25 All other vehicle types — $95 Vehicle stickers may be purchased online, inperson at Village Hall, or through the mail. For more information, visit www. wilmette.com. Construction Notices Skokie/Hibbard Full-scale construction operations are scheduled to resume the week of March 12. Construction work involves intersection widening, drainage improvements, sidewalk and drainage improvements, traffic and pedestrian signal modernization, new roadway lighting and asphalt pavement resurfacing. Work will begin with construction zone temporary traffic control staging (similar to last fall) which will have the following impacts: Skokie Blvd. lane reduction Skokie will be reduced from four lanes of traffic to two lanes (one lane in both directions) and traffic will be shifted to the west side of Skokie Blvd. The east side of Skokie Blvd. will be closed to accommodate construction on the east side of the roadway. The lane reduction will be in effect from south of Lake Avenue to north of Wilmette Avenue. Hibbard Road detour Hibbard will be reduced from two lanes of traffic to one lane. Traffic will be prohibited in the northbound direction between Central Avenue and south of Lake Avenue. Advanced warning signs will be posted directing motorists traveling north on Hibbard Road to follow the posted detour using westbound Glenview Road to northbound Harms Road to eastbound Lake Avenue. Work is scheduled to be substantially completed in mid-May which means the roadway paving will be complete and the Skokie lane reduction and Hibbard detour traffic control will be removed. Minor traffic signal and restoration work will continue through June that will require intermittent daily lane closures only as needed. This project is being supervised by Baxter & Woodman consulting engineers. Illinois/Hibbard The Illinois Department of Transportation has scheduled improvements to the intersection of Illinois Road and Hibbard Road. This project consists of attaching a flashing red light to the existing stop signs on all four legs of the intersection, pruning trees/ bushes within the rightof-way to improve sight lines, providing crosswalk pavement marking and ADA compliant sidewalk ramps on all legs of the intersection, minor roadway patching, and related parkway restoration. Construction is scheduled to begin the week of March 26 and is expected to last approximately five weeks. Work will require intermittent daytime lane closures to accommodate construction activities and provide a safe work zone. This may result in some delays so please plan accordingly and allow extra time to use this intersection during this time. This project will be supervised by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
