Police Reports Senior kicked, hit after exiting vehicle in Wilmette Antonio Kale, 48, of Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery following Kale an incident Feb. 24 in the 1600 block Elmwood Avenue in Wilmette. Officers were dispatched to the area for a battery in progress. At the scene, officers spoke to the victim, a senior. He reported that a subject, who was unknown to him, had followed him in his car to that location and began kicking and hitting him as he attempted to exit his vehicle. The victim provided a description of the offender and his vehicle to include his license plate. Officers were able to identify and contact Kale through their subsequent investigation. On Feb. 25, Kale turned himself in to the Wilmette Police Department. He was charged and processed with one count of misdemeanor battery and released on a $1,500 I- bond. WILMETTE March 2 • An employee at Walgreens, 604 Laurel Ave., Wilmette, reported that an unidentified male stole two boxes of Rohto Max Redness Relief eye drops at approximately 12:52 p.m. Thursday, March 1. The eye drops were valued at $16.58. The offender was described as a white male in his late 20s, 6 foot, 2 inches, with a thin build wearing a maroon hoodie and gray pants. The offender had brown hair, scraggly facial hair and acne. Security video showed him arrive and leave in a black Nissan 4-door. • A resident reported to police that an unknown offender(s) forwarded her family’s mail to another unknown address between Feb. 15-March 1. The post office would not disclose the address to the victim. An additional report was filed with the United States Postal Inspectors Office. March 1 • A resident told police that an unknown offender(s) used her personal information between Feb. 18-19 in an attempt to open credit cards and forward her mail to an unknown location. Feb. 27 • A resident told police that an unknown offender(s) hacked their email account on Feb. 26 and sent an email to one of their business clients regarding a past due account. The email instructed the client to deposit $1,500 into a fraudulent Go Bank (Green Dot) account, which the client did. Feb. 26 • A resident reported that an unknown offender(s) broke out a window on his Range Rover while it was parked on the street between 11:28 a.m.-1:28 p.m. Feb. 24 in the 1100 block of Greenwood Avenue. Feb. 24 • A resident of the 600 block of LeClaire told police that an unknown offender(s) entered their home that day by “brute force” to a rear door between 3-9 p.m. Feb. 23. At the time of the report, it appeared money and jewelry had been taken. • A resident of the 400 block of Lawler reported that an unknown offender(s) had attempted to gain access to their home that day by removing a rear sliding glass door between 9:55-11:20 p.m. Feb. 23. The glass door was broken, but entry to the home was not made. KENILWORTH March 2 • A vehicle that had been stolen out of Kenilworth on Feb. 18 was recovered, unoccupied, and park in Chicago at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 27 in Chicago. Upon further investigation, contents discovered inside the vehicle appear to be linked to auto burglaries in Elmhurst and Chicago. The proceeds from the other burglaries were returned to the owners.
