If you feel like escaping from the city’s bustle, Margaret
Island can offer a lot of great opportunities. The whole
island is a huge park, loved by the city dwellers, who
come here for recreation and entertainment. There are
remains of sacral architecture from the Middle Ages,
promenades, special plants, small ponds and nice fountains
and a lot of possibilities to enjoy yourself: you can
take a nice walk in the Japanese Garden, mount on a
bringóhintó (a bycicle with four wheels), look at the ruins
of the old church and convent. If you want to do some
sports, you can use the running track or go the swimming
pool or the beach. From June there are exhibitions
in the former Water Tower and special performances on
the renewed open-air stage.
