SZÉCHENYI CHAIN BRIDGE
One of the most outstanding architectural
sites of Budapest, part of the World Heritage,
symbol of the city. It was inaugurated in 1849
as the first bridge connecting Pest and Buda
making a big difference in the development
of the capital. The construction was initiated
by Count Stephan Szechényi who is usually
referred to as one of the greatest Hungarians.
The bridge is „guarded” by two stone lions on
both ends.
From here you can get a great view of
the Pest side.
If you happen to zoom in more on the Parliament
building, you may find yourself peeping
at a Parliament session or you can read the
clock of the St. Stephen’s Basilica.
• TIP: Shoot some pictures with the lions at
the foot of the bridge or from the middle of
the bridge with the beautiful view of the Pest
and the Buda river banks.
