Members from Subud Zone 6.
Nearly 50
members from
Benin, Congo
Brazzaville,
Angola and DR Congo
gathered in Kinshasa for
the Zone’s 3rd ever council
meeting. The focus was
how the Zone could become
a stronger WSA member.
As a first step, the members
present focused on the
contribution of Zone 6 to
the development of WSA.
The groups prepared a list
of what would be needed to
fulfill this wish.
1.Identify the real
problems of our groups
2.Specify them
3.Look for the causes of
these problems
4.Detect the consequences
that would result if no
action is taken in time.
5.Specify the sector of
activity concerned
6.Propose corrective
measures to be taken.
7.Give a number to this
problem.
The group decided that it is
important to prioritize and
take care of the needs of
the groups, so things don’t
pile up and cause people to
lose hope. They also felt that
fulfilling the personal needs
of members is important to
free everyone to address
the needs of the zone. The
feeling was that as talents
bear fruit, our gifts and
potential are put to serve the
community and a feeling of
happiness and trust in God
arises. As was stated “We
cannot serve God and at the
same time close our hearts
to the calls within us of the
needs of humanity. “ The
needs of WSA become part
of the needs to be fulfilled.
The feeling was that through
the latihan we are given
the means necessary to be
capable of taking care of

of others, to be the creators of
jobs, and to be friends of peace,
truth, and justice. The only
requirement is to organize our
lives on earth.
Further, to succeed and to move
forward a group needs to have a
good leader, a person who can
create, with the help of others,
a good working environment,
trust, and understanding. In this
way, the group can work for the
benefit of all.
The meeting was well organized,
and a list of conditions to
a successful outcome was
developed, discussed and
adopted by the delegates to the
meeting. Group problems were
stated honestly, and solutions
sought sincerely.
During this meeting, testing
was conducted which helped
to clarify the benefit of doing
the latihan with diligence and
to the best of the ability of the
members. It was felt that as the
latihan becomes stronger, so to
the position of Subud Zone 6 in
the whole of the organization.
As the latihan grows, it will
bring the members into a more
harmonious dialogue and
interaction. Care for each other
will also grow.
Leaders in Zone 6 were able
to raise awareness among its
members that funds are needed
by WSA to run its activities
which affect Subud members
throughout the world such as the
preservation of Bapak’s and Ibu’s
talks and travel of international
helpers. The countries voted
to each raise USD 100 toward
the overall budget of the zone of
which USD 250 would be sent
directly to WSA by the end of
2017.
Zone 6 expressed its gratitude
to the WSA and SDIA and all
the brothers and sisters around
the world who supported this
meeting.
When a good working dynamism
emerges then bonds and ways
of working together can allow
the members to creatively solve
the problems which exist and
concern the members. Members
of the zone felt that this meeting
was a stepping stone to working
together and that the important
factor is to remain open and
available to work together
throughout the zone. g

will replace Rida Liobo Loote
after the World Congress 2018

from Angola.
