Martini<br />
An all time classic…<br />
The dirty secret behind the Dirty Martini? A<br />
dash of olive brine brings a hint of<br />
umami to the classic Martini.<br />
Method<br />
1. Pour the vodka, dry vermouth and<br />
olive brine into a cocktail shaker with a<br />
handful of ice and shake well.<br />
2. Rub the rim of a martini glass with<br />
the wedge of lemon.<br />
Ingredients<br />
• 70ml/2fl oz vodka or gin<br />
• 1 tbsp dry vermouth<br />
• 2 tbsp olive brine<br />
• 1 wedge of lemon<br />
• 1 green olive<br />
3. Strain the contents of the cocktail<br />
shaker into the glass and add the olive.<br />
Don’t forget...<br />
Have it shaken not stirred, James bond<br />
was right... Stirring creates a cold, taut<br />
surface free from ice shards. Shaking is<br />
supposedly good to add antioxidants.<br />
