In 2005, the <strong>Phoenix</strong> <strong>Police</strong> Citizen’s Academy Alumni<br />
Association sponsored and created a police <strong>of</strong>ficer calendar,<br />
which also featured several reserve police <strong>of</strong>ficers in action.<br />
<strong>The</strong> calendar was sold to raise funds for the priorities <strong>of</strong> the<br />
alumni association, which included the recruitment <strong>of</strong> more<br />
reserve police <strong>of</strong>ficers.<br />
In 2006, the Arizona Republic and other local newspapers<br />
published feature articles about reserve police <strong>of</strong>ficers<br />
and the volunteer police services they provided to the<br />
community, which helped with recruitment. <strong>The</strong> force <strong>of</strong><br />
reserve police <strong>of</strong>ficers then grew to nearly 100.<br />
