Place Plans are coming...
COMMUNITY
Our staff have recently been out and about in Ardwick, Clayton and Gorton speaking to
residents to find out the type of improvements you would like to see in these areas.
Once we have looked at all of your feedback we
will publish our findings in the form of a Place Plan.
This will inform our customers about what you have
told us, what we intend to do and how we will do it.
If you have any ideas or suggestions
on how to improve your Place, please call
Paul Doherty on 0330 355 1002 or email
paul.doherty@onemanchester.co.uk
Hard work pays off!
We’re pleased to report that a number
of our staff have recently completed their
NVQ Level 2 in Grounds Maintenance.
The group of One Manchester caretakers and grounds
maintenance operatives were able to apply the practical
elements of the course within their daily tasks at the highrise
blocks and in the communities, as well as learning in
the classroom. Achieving the qualification will help them
to complete additional duties such as maintaining the
grounds around the blocks and undertake other jobs in
and around our neighbourhoods to help provide clean
and green spaces for tenants.
Can you help
our new centre?
We’re looking for new voluntary Board
members with the skills and enthusiasm to
develop the Aquarius Centre into a sustainable
community asset.
One Manchester recently took over the lease on the
centre in Hulme, which has remained unused for a
period of time. We intend to return it to being a vibrant
hub in the heart of the community, providing a range of
activities for all ages.
We are particularly looking for people with skills in the
following areas:
• Community engagement • Business planning
• Networking & influencing • Legal & accounting
• Social media & marketing • Fundraising
• Bid writing & funding procurement
Board members will need to commit to attend regular
meetings and will be required to undergo a DBS check.
You will be making decisions that will impact on the lives
of people in Hulme, so this is a fantastic opportunity to
make a positive difference to the local community.
Help make a difference, send your CV to
