LATITUDE PREVIEW
Bounce Magazine attend the annual Latitude Press Day
to see what our local festival has in store for us in 2018...
Bounce Magazine were thrilled to be
invited along to this year’s Latitude
Press Day Preview at Henham Park.
We caught up with the Latitude
booking team to find out what is in
store for 2018.
To kick start the morning we were welcomed
by Melvin Benn, shortly followed by a freshly
made stone baked pizza from Ipswich
based company ‘Fundi
Woodfired Pizza’, who
will be in attendance
amongst many new food
suppliers at this year’s
festival.
“I felt the food needed
a refreshing this year,”
commented Festival
Republic’s Managing
Director, Melvin Benn.
“Joining our fantastic music headliners are a
long list of unparalleled talent from the latest
and best upcoming artists, and after the
success of Theatre Of Food at Electric Picnic,
it only made sense to bring the amazing
demonstrations that come with it to Henham
Park, plus with even more Street Feast
vendors, and unbeatable family offerings, this
will be the best year yet.”
There are dozens of new activities joining
original favourites in the Kids, Teens and
Families areas at Latitude 2018. We spoke to
Kids and Family Programmer, Sharon Reuben,
who said:
“With three separate areas for kids, teens and
families having fun together, Latitude aims
to be the best and never disappoints! In the
spirit of everything that Latitude is famous for,
we’ve created a mini-festival of our own with
everything from science to literature, drama
and music to visual art and we’re ready to
keep you entertained all day.”
Saturday Day Tickets have
now sold out for Latitude 2018,
however, weekend tickets are
still available to see The Killers,
Solange and Alt-J.
The Killers headline show in the
Obelisk Arena on the Saturday
night is going to be an ultimate
spectacle as the band will be
playing a euphoric careerspanning
set. The Las Vegas
quartet have five albums of hits to unleash,
including their latest number one album,
‘Wonderful Wonderful’.
We caught up with Lucy Wood, Latitude’s
Music Booker, who said “I don’t know how I
am going to top The Killers next year.”
She will be attending this year’s festival no
less than eight and a half months pregnant,
“This may shock some people... however, this
is my first full year as Latitude’s Music Booker,
