RULES AND REGULATIONS<br />

1. Dairy steers must be 100% dairy and be born after 8/1/16<br />

2. Exhibitors may show a maximum of two animals per<br />

class.<br />

3. Steers must be dehorned, castrated and healed before the<br />

show.<br />

4. All dairy steers will be weighed and shown in classes as<br />

determined by show committee.<br />

5. Judging will follow the swine show.<br />

6. Steers should be shown by lead and set up as beef steers.<br />

Showman should wear traditional white clothes.<br />

7. Steers must not have their legs “boned” up or the tails<br />

put in artificial balls.<br />

8. Show sticks will not be allowed.<br />

9. 4-H Dairy Steers need to have a State Market Livestock<br />

registration form on file in the County Extension Office<br />

and be tagged with an official MD 4-H Livestock Tag.<br />

10. Dairy Steers must weigh over 1000 lbs. to be eligible for<br />

the Livestock Sale.<br />

11. If exhibitor sold an animal in the Livestock Sale last year,<br />

they must have done a record book to be eligible to sell<br />

an animal this year.<br />

12. Each 4-H exhibitor must be enrolled in a 4-H Dairy Steer<br />

project to be eligible to show and sell.<br />

13. All exhibitors must abide by the 4-H Code of Animal<br />

Ethics.<br />

14. All 4-H Dairy Steers must be on the grounds by 4:00<br />

p.m. Saturday, July 21, <strong>2018</strong>.<br />

15. Any 4-Her showing in open show, must pay $3 entry fee.<br />

16. Show committee reserves the right to dismiss a 4-Her if<br />

animals are not being cared for.<br />

17. Open animals must arrive on grounds between 7 a.m.<br />

and 9 a.m. on the day of show.<br />
