fairgrounds and/or horse show area.<br />

Jumper Show Rules<br />

1. Horse shows are a part of the Cecil County Fair. All<br />

spectators entering the fairgrounds must pay a gate fee.<br />

(adult/$5. Seniors/children 6-12/$2, children under 6/<br />

free) Exhibitors (anyone showing a horse/pony) will be<br />

given two (2) Gate passes and one (1) Car pass to allow<br />

parking at the show barns. (Pre-entry passes will be<br />

mailed to you.) Every vehicle entering via Entrance 3<br />

must have a car hang tag……. Everyone in the vehicle<br />

entering the fairgrounds must have a gate pass. NO<br />

EXCEPTIONS! Extra gate and car passes may be<br />

ordered with your entry. Please include quantity of each<br />

and a SEPARATE CHECK made out to Cecil County<br />

Fair. If you enter more than 1 show, you may only<br />

receive 2 gate passes and 1 car pass. If you need<br />

2. Pre-entries for open classes are due by July 2, <strong>2018</strong> at<br />

$15 per class. Pre-entries for Classics are $50.<br />

3. A copy of CURRENT (within 12 months of showdate)<br />

legible, negative coggins and MDA Equine Self<br />

Certification must be presented to show office prior to<br />

showing. Only Cecil County 4-H members with proper<br />

card on file may enter the 4-H classes and must be preregistered<br />

by July 2, <strong>2018</strong> with a security deposit check<br />

for $25 (made payable to Cecil County Fair) refundable<br />

after completion of classes.<br />

4. Post entries are $20 per class. Post entries for Classics<br />

are $75. All post entries must be made before the start<br />

of the class, and must include a copy of the current<br />

negative coggins.<br />

5. No adds or scratches at the gate. All changes must be<br />

made at the show office. No refunds for missed classes.<br />

No refunds for scratched classes without a<br />

veterinarian’s certificate. Entries after jump order is<br />

posted will go first.<br />

6. Stalls are available July 24 and July 25 at $35 per stall.<br />

Bring your own straw, no shavings permitted. Stalls<br />

will be cleaned for you. Please use the separate stall<br />

registration form.<br />

7. Jump heights are approximate.<br />

8. Approved ASTM/SEI helmets with safety harness are<br />

required on all mounted riders anywhere on the show/<br />

fair grounds. if a riding coat is not worn, riders must<br />

wear a shirt with a collar or choker, neatly tucked into<br />

riding breeches.<br />

9. Formal attired is required for Classics. You must enter<br />

all division classes to be in the Classic.<br />

10. Six ribbons in all classes with points 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 0.<br />

Classics will offer ribbons, trophies, and prize money.<br />

Championships awarded in each division. Prize money<br />

will be mailed after the fair. Classic payout is<br />

40%,30%,20%, 10%. Must have at least six entries in the<br />

Classic for a full payout. All other payouts will be 60%<br />

of the entries received.<br />

11. No mounted exhibitor may wear or carry an electronic<br />

device (i.e. cell phone, pager, etc.) while in the<br />

competition ring.<br />

12. All classes are held in the Foxcatcher ring, with sand/<br />

rubber footing and warm up ring of stone dust.<br />

13. Numbers will be issued when entry is received with full<br />

payment or signed, blank check to hold for final<br />

payment. The driver’s license number must be legibly<br />

written on the check. A $35 return check fee will be<br />

strictly enforced.<br />

14. Please be aware of all rules.<br />

15. Each 4-H horse and rider combination may only enter 1<br />

4-H division.<br />
